In this podcast with husband and father, Adrien Quenneville, we discuss the ins and outs of the sanguine temperament. Since Gerhard is also of a sanguine temperament, he and Adrien surprise each other in the ways they are similar but different (Gerhard has phlegmatic as his secondary temperament and Adrien has choleric).

Adrien is the father of five, a pilot, and also a part-time farmer. You can find him online at Black Duck Farm, where he blogs about chickens, turkeys, and permaculture (sustainable farming).

Today's episode we sit down and have a chat with Adrien about his experience being a sanguine husband and father of five children. Gerhard pitches in with his experiences as a sanguine husband and father. Two fun-loving temperaments together make for lots of laughter, along with insights into how this temperament can manifest itself differently in different people.

As we discuss in our podcast on the four temperaments, the sanguine temperament is generally fun-loving, spontaneous, and extroverted. Temperament is the matter from which we can derive our personality—it is not something we can change, but it is something we can learn to balance and develop. There are mature and immature versions of every temperament. There are also temperament blends; the sanguine can be blended with either the choleric or the phlegmatic temperaments.

In this podcast, we discuss some elements of the sanguine personality and how they play out in day-to-day life. Here is the list of adjectives for the sanguine temperament that we derived from Art and Laraine Bennett’s The Temperament God Gave You:
